It was an emotional moment for a former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and his wife, Feyisetan, as she turned 60 years old earlier in the week.

In a simple but intimate diamond jubilee celebration, the governor profusely thanked his wife for being by his side all through the years.

Handing her a bouquet of flowers, he said, “I celebrate a woman of action, an exceptional character, and a woman of prayer. What would I have been without you and God? I love and appreciate you and, I am sending this to the whole world that you are a wonderful life mate. You deserve this celebration.”

The ex-governor also had a special prayer session with his wife, where he thanked God for her life and prayed that all her heart desires would be met. As he prayed for her, she went on her knees, while he placed his hands on her shoulder.

Aside from the beautifully decorated cake, the venue, which seemed to be the couple’s home, was decorated with different colourful balloons.

There is no doubt that Fayose not only loves his wife, but also holds her in high esteem, and that is apparent from the way he often extols her virtue.

At different times, he has said that if not for her prayers, he might not have been able to come as far as he had.
